The Health Service Commission (HSC) has convened for its Mid-Year Planning and Performance Review Workshop; a crucial platform aimed at assessing progress made in the first half of the year while aligning strategies and goals for the months ahead.
The session allowed departments to present their achievements, highlight challenges encountered, and propose practical solutions in line with the Commission’s mandate to ensure an efficient, motivated, and adequately staffed health service.
HSC Deputy Chairperson Dr. Rugare Abigail Kangwende commended the collective efforts shown so far and urged teams to maintain momentum in implementing reforms that directly impact service delivery and healthcare outcomes nationwide.
HSC Secretary Dr. Christopher Pasi emphasized the importance of continuous monitoring and evaluation to guide informed decision-making and resource allocation. He also encouraged departments to adopt a results-based approach and foster a culture of accountability.
The workshop serves as a reminder of HSC’s unwavering commitment to driving transformation in Zimbabwe’s public health sector through strategic planning, performance tracking, and stakeholder collaboration.
As the second half of the year unfolds, the Commission remains focused on building resilient human capital systems, improving conditions of service, and promoting transparency and professionalism across the health workforce.
