Health Service Commission (HSC) comprised of Commissioners Angelbert Mbengwa and Mercy Gwaunza, Secretary Dr. Christopher Pasi, and General Manager for Performance Improvement and Development Dr. Bernard Nkala paid a courtesy call on Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Her Excellency Sophia Nyamudeza, in Addis Ababa.

The engagement comes ahead of the 10th Africa Public Service Day (APSD) Celebrations, where Zimbabwe is participating under the theme “Enhancing the Agility and Resilience of Public Institutions to Achieve Equitable Governance and Rapidly Address Historical Service Gaps.”

During the meeting, the HSC delegation shared the mission and mandate of the Commission and reaffirmed its commitment to building a competent, responsive, and resilient health workforce aligned with national and continental development goals.

The delegation will also take time to visit the African Union (AU) Headquarters and Health Insurance Agency in Ethiopia to deepen collaboration, exchange best practices and gain insight on key issues, including the recruitment and retention of skilled health professionals and the implementation of National Health Insurance frameworks.

Zimbabwe’s participation in APSD demonstrates its dedication to strengthening public service delivery and contributing meaningfully to Africa’s transformation agenda.
