The Health Service Commission (HSC) held its Mid-Term Performance Review, bringing together the Commission leadership and staff to assess progress made during the first half of the year, reflect on key achievements and challenges, and map the way forward for the remainder of the year.
Speaking at the official opening of the review, Chairman of the Health Service Commission, Dr Vincent Hungwe, emphasised the importance of the performance review in strengthening accountability, improving service delivery and ensuring that the Commission remains focused on achieving its mandate.
He noted that the mid-year review provides an important opportunity for the Commission to take stock of progress against its targets, identify areas requiring attention and put in place strategies to address any gaps.
Meanwhile, in his opening remarks, HSC Secretary, Dr Christopher Pasi, said the review was critical in ensuring that the Commission’s programmes and activities remain aligned with its strategic objectives and the broader goals of the health sector.
Dr Pasi urged staff to use the review as an opportunity for honest reflection, continuous improvement and renewed commitment to delivering results. He stressed the need for departments to strengthen coordination, accountability and teamwork in order to achieve the Commission’s targets for the remainder of the year.
The Mid-Year Performance Review will assess departmental performance, progress against annual plans, key achievements, challenges encountered and priorities for the second half of the year.
