Guided by the findings and recommendations of the 2022 Health Labour Market Analysis, Government developed the Health Workforce Strategy 2023–2030, followed by the Zimbabwe Health Workforce Investment Compact 2024–2026. These strategic frameworks provide a clear national roadmap and measurable commitments towards building a resilient, skilled, motivated, and adequately resourced health workforce capable of supporting the delivery of quality healthcare services across the country.
The meeting provided a platform for deliberations on sustainable health workforce financing, retention, capacity development, policy implementation, and strengthening partnerships necessary for achieving universal health coverage and improved health outcomes for all Zimbabweans.
